The National Assembly yesterday unanimously passed a resolution expressing deep concern over the continuing spate of violence and brutality committed by Israel against the people of Palestine.
The entire house strongly condemned the institutionalized oppression of Israeli forces and denounced the brutal disenfranchisement, exclusion, and ethnic cleansing of Palestine people.
The atrocious killings of Palestinians and attacks by the Israeli regime on worshippers in Al-Aqsa mosque during Ramadan and attempts to stop the Azaan — call for prayer was also deplored by the cabinet members.
The resolution passed and stated that “The house denounces and rejects the continuing practice of expanding settlements through forced evictions by the apartheid regime, which are in violation of Article 49 of the Four Geneva Convention”.
In the line of this increasing violence on Palestine people, the National Assembly also called upon the international community to take immediate cognizance of and action against the ethnic cleansing, genocide, and forced displacement of the Palestinians people; and to establish an international protection mechanism for the Palestinian people.
Moreover, the house also demanded that the international community ensure accountability for all past and present grave human rights violations and crimes against humanity being perpetrated against the Palestinians by Israel.
