RIYADH: As the Shawwal crescent not sighted, Muslims are all set to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr in Saudi Arabia tomorrow.
The Islamic calendar is lunar which is based on the sighting of the crescent moon. Astronomers gathered at the Sumair and Tumair for sighting of the moon but no sign was visible.
Chief Astronomer Abdullah Al Khudairi had earlier said that there is little to no possibility the Shawwal moon will be sighted.
Later on, the Saudi Press Agency confirmed that the Royal Court had announced that Wednesday is the last day of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr 1442 AH will be observed on Thursday.
