Pak Envoy, Belarus minister vows to increase cooperation in education sector

Belarus :  Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus Sajjad Haider Khan held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Igor Karpenko, Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus.

During the meeting, both ministers had a discussion on the bilateral cooperation to boost education sector and to facilitate students effectively.

Ministers also appreciated the existing MOUs between the two countries covering educational collaboration and emphasized the significance of the universities in both the countries for joint research and participation in educational programmes.

The honourable Minister showed readiness of Belarusian side to accept issuance of double degree programmes/diplomas. He also shared the possibility of provision of scholarships to Pakistani students as part of Ministry’s annual programme.

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Irina Shitkovskaya, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry.

The two sides also broached the prospects of running short term (4-6 weeks duration) languages course at the National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad, the Belarusian State University and Minsk State Linguistic University.
