SEHWAN: A case of vandalism has been registered by the Sehwan police against 300 people following to the clashes and burning of public property over the closure of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (RA) shrine.

The brawl between security officials and devotees intensified when the devotees were not granted permission to enter the shrine.

In the light of the orders of the provincial government, the shrine was closed amid rising coronavirus cases in the country. But at the immediate time, the saint’s 769th annual Urs gatherings also kicked off from the 18th to the 20th of Shabaan (April 1-3 this year).

The Sindh government had already announced the closure of all shrines, public places and eateries in the province for a period of 10 days and cancelled the Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

During the heated arguments, the mob broke down barriers and set on fire several vehicles, including motorcycles.

Soon after the clash, the Sindh Rangers took control of the shrine.
