NAB’s team back empty handed as Shehbaz Sharif not found at home

LAHORE: The officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) gone back from the residence of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif’s sans his arrest after staying almost for two hours in Model Town area of Lahore.

According to details, NAB team reached Sharif’s house after the latter skipped the hearing related to assets beyond means case yesterday.

A heavy contingent of police officers were deployed in the Model Town area where the entry of media persons was also restricted and PML-N workers were stopped with the help of barricades.

A four-member team of anti-graft watchdog including three women officers and led by NAB Deputy Director were present outside Shehbaz Sharif’s residence, media reports said.

The PML-N president was of the view that instead of going for hearing, NAB could question him via Skype following to his age factor and health condition in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.

Sources told ‘The News Vision’ that opposition leader told the authorities that he was 69 years old and a cancer survivor; in such a situation he could not put his life at risk.
