NAWABSHAH: District Police apprehended the murderer of journalist Aziz Memon on Friday, who was killed in Naushero Feroz’s Mehrabpur in February.
According to details, the arrest came after his DNA was found on Memon’s body.
DNA of another person was found from Memon’s body during the post-mortem examination, AIG Ghulam Nabi told media persons.
Police also said that murderer Mujtaba Nazeer Sehtu confessed his crime under police custody and revealed names of his accomplices during the murder. Moreover his DNA also matched.
It must be mentioned here that “three suspects have already been arrested while police are conducting raids to arrest other five,” Nabi added.
The AIG during a presser also assured that the team will not succumb to any pressure and will transparently ensure that suspects are brought to book.
JIT formed under the supervision of the Sindh government is further investigating the case.
It is pertinent to mention here that, journalist Memon, a reporter associated with Kawish Television Network, was found dead in a canal in Mehrabpur on February 16, 2020.
