COVID-19: Pakistan stands at 20th position with highest coronavirus cases globally

KARACHI: On the list of world’s top affected countries from novel coronavirus, Pakistan is on the 20th position following to the countrywide COVID-19 patients jumps to 30,000 with 709 new cases reported in the province of Sindh.

In the light of the survey by John Hopkins University, Pakistan is now one of the top in COVID-19 affected countries with 648 deaths.

Moreover, according to the daily updates of the national dashboard, 1,991 cases were detected in the country in the last 24 hours taking the national tally to 29,465 which is the highest single-day surge in cases till now.

Sindh tops the tally with 11,480 cases, followed by Punjab with 11,093. In Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, 4,509 cases have been recorded while 1,935 cases have been reported in Balochistan.

Gilgit Baltistan has reported 430, Islamabad 641 and AJK has reported 86 cases so far.

It may be mentioned here that in the last 24 hours, a total of 13,341 tests have been conducted out of which 1,991 tends to be positive.

So far, 283,517 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the country.

As far as recovery of patients is considered so 8,023 patients have been recovered from the virus in the country up till now.

In the world scenario, at least 4,001,437 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported along with 277,127 deaths.
