Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Sindh government spokesperson, said on Tuesday that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) should be firm upon its decision of withdrawing its federal minister and “should not compromise for the sake of another ministry”.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, he stated, “The federal government has failed to address Karachi’s concerns. I urge MQM to fight on behalf of Karachi and not compromise for the sake of another ministry. He further added, “If we all rally and unite behind this cause, the federal government will be forced to transfer the Rs162 billion which was allocated under the development program.
Wahab urged MQM-P to stand by its decision and keep fighting for the people of Karachi. He reinstated that Prime Minister Imran Khan has failed to fulfill each of the promises he made to the people of Karachi,, be it “funding development programs, funding the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, funding projects in Hyderabad or funding hospital in Mithi.
He expressed that according to his opinion, MQM’s decision to withdraw from its federal ministry was fueled by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s proposal of giving party ministries in Sindh in return for breaking its alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI)central government.
