KARACHI: The City of Lights ‘Karachi’ celebrated the contribution of the authors, writers, poets, educationist for the promotion of Urdu language during 12th International Urdu Conference 2019 held at Karachi Arts Council
A glorious and a magnanimous 4-day event held under the presidency of Ahmed Shah who along with his dedicated team members made this entire event a great success.
The International Urdu Conference largely entertained a bunch of literary figures from all the nooks and corners of the world who unearthed their massive work and services for Urdu Literature and language.
Attendees in the conference participated from different parts of the world including France, Japan, Germany, US, Dubai, India and last but not the least from all over Pakistan.
This conference had not only taken into account the contribution of the eminent literary personalities belonging just to Urdu rather it also highlighted the role and the contribution of all provincial languages as well including Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi and etc.
Our country is the amalgamation of various cultures, cast, creed and language and all received great recognition and praise under the umbrella of International Urdu Conference at Arts Council, Karachi.
Every year, Arts Council Karachi organizes this mega conference and this year’s conference was far bigger and best in comparison to that of the last year.
During the conference, for the very first time variety of food stalls were also serving the audience with tempting delights and flavors, ladies jewelry and kurtis stalls were also present and uncountable events were held during the 4-day conference.
This initiative of promoting the Urdu language by Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi needs to be appreciated at all forums as it has not only highlighted the contribution, success stories, hurdles of the Urdu literature but also promoted all of this to a higher extent.
Prominent literary figures, poets, writers, journalists, showbiz personalities, politicians and public were in attendance including Anwar Maqsood, Haseena Moin, Iftikhar Arif, Anwar Masood, Shamim Hanifi, Kishwer Naheed, Zehra Nigar, Amjad Islam Amjad, Hilal Naqvi, Zia Moheyuddin, Arif Naqvi, Akram Qaimkhani, Raza Ali Abidi, Ishrat Moeen, Sadaf Mirza.
Among others were also senior journalist Hamid Mir, Asma Sherazi, Wusatullah Khan, Nazeer Laghari, Mujahid Barelwi, Mazhar Abbas. Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood, Mir Hasil Bazinjo, Sindh Minister for Culture Sardar Shah, Minister for Women Development Syeda Shehla Raza and etc.
