Former president and co-chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari is suffering from acute spinal cord pain, said his sister, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho.
According to details given by the provincial minister of health, Dr Azra, PPP leader’s condition is critical as he is suffering from severe pain in the spinal cord’s S4, S5 and L1 area.
L1 is known as the Lumbar spine. It is located below the cervical and thoracic section of the spine on the lower back and is triangle-shaped. Whereas, these S1 to S5 sections are called Sacral Spine that together affect nerve communication to the lower portion of the body.
Zardari’s condition got more worst following to his travel from prison to the city court in an armour van.
Dr Azra further said that Zardari’s treatment is not possible in Pakistan as there was not a single surgeon of spinal cord in the country.
Moreover, provincial minister also requested the government to ensure adequate treatment to her brother on humanitarian grounds.
