Chaman blast kills JUI-F leader Maulana Hanif

CHAMAN:  Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) leader Maulana, Mohammad Hanif and three others were killed in a motorcycle bomb blast on Taj Road in Chaman area police on Saturday.

According to police, the blast took place in front of Maulana, Mohammad Hanif’s  office, at least 17 persons were also injured in the incident..

Police said that the JUI-F leader succumbed to his injuries on way to a hospital in Quetta.

The police further that the explosive material was planted inside a motorcycle on roadside, adding that due to the intensity of the blast, windows of several nearby buildings shattered.

Four wounded persons were shifted to a nearby hospital, said rescue sources.

Meanwhile, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman condemned the bomb blast, saying that he was deeply aggrieved due to the death of his party’s leader.

“Maulana Mohammad Haneef was a sincere leader,” said Fazl-ur-Rehman, calling the incident a conspiracy against peace.

He urged his party workers to aid in rescue activities.
