KARACHI: “We have taken decision to re-organize Sindh Higher Education Commission in the light of the 18th Amendment” Chairman Sindh HEC and former federal minister for Petroleum Dr Asim Hussain said this yesterday.
Speaking to the media persons on the occasion of awards distribution ceremony held at Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Dr Asim said that in the province of Sindh there exists two key departments of education, the first one is HEC and the other is Universities and Board.
Chancellor Ziauddin University said that “all the issues related to the funding were administered by the Universities and the Board itself. Whereas Sindh HEC was not permitted yet to get the funding process.”
“At present, direct funding is made by the Sindh government,” Dr Asim added.
Dr Asim also said that “As there were many reservations regarding 18th Amendment, so we have now decided to reorganize Sindh HEC subsequent to the discussions in accordance with the amendment.”
Moreover, in our recent Commission meeting we have also developed a new Organogram and few policies would be added further in order to make Sindh HEC more strengthen and organized, Dr Asim said further.
Dr. Asim Hussain was invited as a chief guest at JSMU for appreciating the alumni and friends of Sindh Medical College for receiving awards from the Government of Pakistan for their remarkable services to the country.
