LAHORE: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif yesterday said that he will take a legal action against the British newspaper ‘Daily Mail’ for publishing a fabricated and misleading story against him.

Shehbaz on his official twitter handle wrote “Have decided to file law suit against Daily Mail. The fabricated and misleading story was published at the behest of Imran Khan and Shahzad Akbar.”

“We will also launch legal proceedings against them. By the way Imran Khan has yet to respond to three such cases I filed against him for defamation” former CM Punjab added in his tweet.

It must be mentioned here that,  the British newspaper had reported that the UK’s Department for International Development (DIFD) had given Sharif and his government taxpayers’ cash which he along with his family members embezzled tens of millions of pounds of public money and laundering it to Britain.
