Opposition nominates Hasil Bizenjo as candidate for Senate Chairman

The ‘Rehbar Committee’ of Opposition today mutually agreed to nominate Senator Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo as its joint candidate for the position of chairman Senate.

According to details, a committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) leader Akram Khan Durrani in the federal capital today where Bizenjo’s name was finalized.

The meeting was attended by senior leaders of the opposition parties, including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Farhatullah Babar, Nayyar Bukhari, Usman Kakar and Ahsan Iqbal, among others.

“I appreciate that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif placed his trust in me,” Bizenjo told PML-N leaders during the meeting.

“I am grateful for being nominated by the PML-N and added that I hope to deliver best in accordance with the expectations of the opposition parties,” Bizenjo added.

Speaking to the journalists, Bizenjo said “Winning and losing may be part of the election process, but I already feel like I’ve won with the faith placed in me.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the members of the opposition had decided to remove chairman Senate at a All parties conference on June 26.
